Top tips for working from home
- ……………………
I could sit here and write another blog post on the top ten ways to work better and more efficiently at work or the top ten Netflix programmes to binge while we’re all in isolation but there are already thousands of them out there – just Google it and you’ll find them.
This short piece will be quite simple. The most important thing to do right now is look after yourself and those close to you. While of course keeping up with your work (remember, you still need your job after all of this!). If you’re like me and live in a different country to your family, then you’ll be used to regular Facetime catch ups as that’s the only way to see your loved ones often. But for others who aren’t used to it, get your parents or anyone in your family to use Skype or Facetime so people don’t get lonely and don’t feel so isolated – you’ll be surprised how much an hour chatting to your family “face-to-face” brightens your mood. The newest app that I’ve just downloaded is Houseparty (a video conferencing app where loads of people can join in) – get your friends to download it, schedule in a time and have some evening drinks and a laugh together while still social distancing. It’s as good as we’ll get to the pub for a while!
Today, I wrote a list of things I’m going to do once this all settles down again. It really cheered me up and reminded me all I had to look forward to. Some of them were: getting my nails done, booking a trip back to Ireland, arranging a big meet up with my friends here in London and the most important one……covering my grey hairs!
I hope you are all staying safe and staying home. It’s the only way we’ll get through this.
