The show in Windsor Great Park runs until 31 October and is open daily 9am-6pm.
Heron Metal Crafts’ MyraPyra (mirror polished pyramid) is a star of the show. The stunning structure is handcrafted and made of mirror polished stainless steel. For the UK market, there are three standard sizes available – 120cm, 180cm and 240cm – the 240cm version which is on display retails at £2,800. A bespoke service is also offered for special commissions.
Richard Heron, from Maidenhead, has been in the metalworking business for over 40 years and his skills have been passed down through the generations as his father and grandfather were both blacksmiths. His career has diversified over the years and now Heron Metal Crafts is a husband-and-wife team based in Berkshire. Julie Heron explains “Richard is the creator and maker of all things metal. We specialise in products he loves to make to sell to you. We are currently focusing on our beautiful mirror polished pyramid sculptures but we are always excited to consider new designs and new projects. We also look after installations requirements, such as base and plinth options, should help be needed.”
Set within the 35 acres of The Savill Garden, Surrey Sculpture’s Art in the Garden exhibition combines eye-catching sculpture with horticultural excellence. The show comprises sculptures in varying styles, subject and materials; all inspired by the natural world and accompanied by the artist’s statement.
Explaining his excitement for the show and his art, Richard comments, “I am passionate about creating through the medium of metal, particularly mirror polished stainless steel as I love the light and depth of its reflection that it creates through the seasons. This mirrored pyramid, the MyraPyra, represents new beginnings as it watches over nature as it grows within it.”
Discounted tickets are available when booked online in advance. Entry to Art in the Garden is included with a Savill Garden admission ticket at £13.95 per person.
