If you follow us on social media (@tayloraldenpr on Instagram), you may have seen that our client, KönigOutdoor, starred in the Savills Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show last week.
As avid lovers of the Chelsea Flower Show, we were excited to work with the team on such a stunning project – who doesn’t love the annual showcase?
Lauren and her team worked together with KönigOutdoor, Landform and the media (of course) to make sure the promotion of the garden was a stellar success – which it was!
Here we talk through the journey of what has been a very successful week in the Borough of Chelsea & Westminster!
Concept
KönigOutdoor was chosen by the Savills Garden designer, Mark Gregory, to feature in his “plot to plate” garden on Chelsea Flower Show’s main avenue. The outdoor kitchen specialist was the first ever working kitchen to be featured within a show garden. A star chef cooked a three course lunch every day for Chelsea pensioners.
Sustainability was also at the forefront of this design! Savills will work with the Shaw Trust, a national charity running employability programmes and complementary services for people with complex needs, to relocate the garden. The KönigOutdoor kitchen will become a working display model in Landform’s Emporium showroom.
Process
The KönigOutdoor design experts worked with Landform (the company behind the build) to design the best possible kitchen for the show garden. We worked with the marketing team at Landform and their PR agency to create a social strategy. We created a series of media release for pre, during and post show, which were pitched to a list of top-notch national media contacts. These detailed the garden design, the involved parties and what to expect at the show.
Result
The Savills Garden won the Silver Gilt Medal on Tuesday 25th May. (But we really think it deserved gold!)
Once the doors swung opened on Monday morning, it was straight to a busy press day. The day began with interested journalists asking questions about the design, concept and general background of the garden. We also got many specific questions about the kitchen itself – what it was made of, the appliances chosen and what colours it comes in.
We had prepared comprehensive press packs, which were handed out to the interested parties.
The feedback has been outstanding, and the garden has been enjoyed by an array of well-known faces – HRH Princess of Wales and Mary Berry, to name two!
So far, the outdoor kitchen at the Savills Garden has been featured in the Express, Daily Mail, People, Hello Magazine, The English Home, BBQ Magazine and Ideal Home.
