The Steel Window Association (SWA) is the UK’s leading trade body representing manufacturers, installers and fabricators of steel windows and doors. Promoting quality standards, technical excellence and best practice across the sector, the Association plays an important role in supporting its members while championing the preservation, repair and refurbishment of steel windows, particularly within historic and heritage buildings.
Taylor Alden delivers a fully integrated communications programme designed to raise the profile of the Association, promote the expertise of its members and reinforce the SWA’s position as the authoritative voice of the steel window industry.
Working closely with both the Association and its membership, we develop and manage a broad range of communications activities spanning media relations, content creation, social media, website management and strategic communications support. This joined-up approach ensures a consistent flow of relevant, engaging and informative content while helping maintain a strong presence across the industry’s most influential channels.
A key part of our role is collaborating with members to identify, develop and promote their projects, achievements and technical expertise. Through regular engagement with architects, specifiers, contractors, conservation professionals and the wider construction industry, we help showcase the value of steel windows and communicate the specialist knowledge that exists within the Association’s membership.
At the heart of the programme is the promotion of best practice in the preservation, repair and enhancement of steel windows. Through technical articles, project case studies, industry commentary and thought leadership content, we help position the SWA as the first point of reference for guidance on conservation, refurbishment and specification. This ongoing activity not only raises awareness of the Association’s work but also supports informed decision-making across the sector.
Alongside media and content activity, we manage the Association’s social media presence, ensuring consistent and professional engagement across all platforms. We also provide support to individual members, helping them maximise their own visibility while aligning with the wider messaging and objectives of the Association. This collective approach strengthens both the SWA brand and the profile of its members, creating greater visibility and engagement across the industry.
A flagship element of our work is the management and promotion of the Steel Window Association Awards. Celebrating excellence across domestic, commercial and refurbishment projects, the awards provide an important platform for recognising innovation, craftsmanship and technical achievement. Our involvement extends from event promotion and social media campaigns through to media partnerships, sponsorship management and event coordination, helping maximise participation, awareness and industry engagement.
We also manage and continuously develop the Association’s website, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for members, specifiers and industry stakeholders. Through the regular addition of news, project features, technical content and member updates, we help ensure the site remains relevant, informative and aligned with the Association’s objectives.
Having worked with the Steel Window Association for many years, we have developed a detailed understanding of the organisation, its members and the wider market in which it operates. This long-standing relationship enables us to act as an extension of the Association’s team, providing strategic guidance and practical support across all aspects of its communications activity.Today, the SWA continues to be recognised as the leading authority on steel windows and doors within the UK. By promoting member expertise, championing best practice and maintaining a consistent presence across trade, heritage and construction media, we help ensure the Association’s voice remains influential, respected and relevant while supporting the long-term success of both the organisation and its membership.
