Haddonstone was pleased to welcome local councillor David A Howes and Shane Webster of Allotment Online to its Northamptonshire manufactory for a guided visit of the site.
The visit began with a comprehensive tour led by Production Director Katherine Kates, who introduced guests to Haddonstone’s production processes and facilities. Councillor Howes and Mr Webster were shown each of the key manufacturing areas, gaining insight into the craftsmanship and attention to detail that underpin the company’s work. The tour also included a visit to the studio, where design and innovation continue to shape Haddonstone’s product range.
Following the manufactory tour, the group visited the Show Gardens, where Nita Attwood provided a guided walk-through of the space, highlighting a selection of Haddonstone’s architectural and garden stonework in situ.
Councillor Howes expressed particular appreciation for Haddonstone’s long-standing role as a local employer, noting that the company is now in its 55th year. He also praised its ongoing commitment to supporting young craftspeople entering the profession, as well as its focus on being a responsible employer and advancing sustainability initiatives.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase Haddonstone’s heritage, craftsmanship, and continued investment in both people and sustainable practices.
Councillor Howes recently joined the Haddonstone team as part of a tree planting initiative in Desborough.
“Haddonstone is a fantastic example of a strong local employer that combines heritage craftsmanship with modern creativity. It was a pleasure to visit and see the skill and dedication of the team, as well as the investment being made in supporting young people entering the workplace. Their commitment to sustainability and maintaining high standards of design and production is something the local area can be very proud of.” – Councillor David A Howes
